Metal Technology, a privately held precision fabrication and custom manufacturing business specializing in reactive, refractory and high temperature alloys, headquartered in Albany, Oregon, announced that it has added Advanced Technology Manager, Gavin Garside to its staff.
Gavin earned both a B.S. and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Metallurgical Engineering. He comes to Metal Technology from a U.S. based reactive and refractory alloy producer where he gained extensive experience in project and technical management for Aerospace and Nuclear applications. The combination of his Lean Six Sigma training and material engineering background will help MTI to optimize production processes and materials development.
Gavin’s work experience includes evaluation of powdered metal, targeted for use in additive manufacturing. His materials background adds a level of depth to Metal Technology’s Additive Manufacturing Initiatives: “Early adoption of a metal 3D printer shows how serious Metal Technology is about being prepared for the future of specialized parts production. Being on the leading edge of this technology puts Metal Technology ahead of the learning curve as the demand for metal 3D printed parts increases.” Garside said.
“Gavin has the demonstrated talent and background to help take MTI to the next level and we are excited to have him on the team” said Gary Cosmer, Metal Technology CEO. “Our future depends on our ability to continually innovate by stepping out past the edge to develop advanced manufacturing techniques for the exotic reactive and refractory metals our customers demands.”
