MTI Takes Delivery Of Mitsubishi BA24 Large Capacity, Submerged Machining High-Speed Wire EDM

Electrical discharge machining (EDM), sometimes also referred to as spark machining, is a manufacturing process whereby a desired shape is obtained using only electrical discharges (sparks).  This process takes place with no metal to metal contact and produces exceptional surface finish with extremely accurate tolerances.

“With a maximum part size of 41″ X 32″ X 16″ and maximum part weight of 3,300 lbs our new EDM will be one of the biggest in the Pacific Northwest” said Gary Cosmer, Chief Executive Officer for Metal Technology (MTI).  The new EDM is an addition to EDM services already offered by MTI.  Below are some photos of the new equipment during delivery and training.
